Instructions for setting up and managing a researcher profile in Web of Science

The researcher profile in Web of Science allows you to track your own publications, citation indicators, reviews for journals, conferences and projects, as well as easily export data for use in various programs. The updated profile includes convenient features for working and storing the history of publications and reviews.

Step 1. Switch to the Web of Science profile

The Publons™ web platform has joined the Web of Science™. Therefore, after trying to log in to your Publons profile, the system will redirect you to the Web of Science page. To continue, you need to:

1. Go to the link: https://access.clarivate.com/login?app=wos

2. Enter your login details (login and password used for Publons). If you are unable to log in, use the “Forgot your password” button.

Step 2. Personalize your profile and synchronize with ORCID

After logging in to your Web of Science profile, we recommend that you change your password and synchronize your account with ORCID:

☑️Find “Settings” in the upper right corner under your name.

☑️Select “Account Settings” and follow the instructions to synchronize with ORCID.

Step 3. Adding articles to your profile

To add publications, click the “Manage” button:

1. In the management section, you can see a list of indexed articles. To add missing articles, select “Add publications”.

2. The system automatically pulls up articles by last name, email, or you can add them manually.

Additionally, articles can be found by title or DOI. After selecting the desired article, click “Add”, and within 72 hours it will appear in your profile.

Recommendations

Pay attention to notifications from Web of Science: they contain important information about updates and improvements. You can view the notification by clicking on the purple question mark at the bottom left of the page.
